Now, that I reflect upon it, I do have quite a history in writing on the internet. I was by no means successful, but I was constantly posting something somewhere. It started in school, where someone set up a forum for our class and I would post random poems. It continued in my time at university, where I tried xanga and was active on tumblr for a while. Later I set up an account on Medium and tried Twitter for some time. Other services on my list "tried-and-abandoned": Instagram (still on, but inactive), Patreon, MailChimp, Substack, Odoo. During the Covid pandemic, I delved more seriously into photography and started a blog about it on Blogspot, which I then soon moved over to my own WordPress site.
Now after five years dabbling around with my site it is time for a change. Over time I have developed a certain taste as to how things should be: low maintenance, low cost, low data demand, low tracking. All these "lows" should enable other "highs": high quality, high output, high enjoyment through actually putting something out there, instead of being occupied with everything else around. So that's how I got here.
So if someone should ever read this, feel free to get in touch. Comment or send me an email. Now that the kids have grown a little I might even have time to reply.
